Donald Trump is making headlines again; for all the wrong reasons!
The controversial Republican presidential candidate caused a major uproar amongst Americans yesterday when he implied during an event in North Carolina that his supporters could stop his rival and Democratic Presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton from appointing Supreme Court justices, by assassinating her.
Trump was speaking on the Second Amendment -which is the right of people to bear arms/weapons – and while expressing his concern over the fact that Hillary wants to abolish it he said: “If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks…..Although the Second Amendment people…maybe there is, I don’t know.”
See the video below.
Immediately, Twitter exploded as democrats, gun control advocates, celebrities and many others blasted Donald Trump for suggesting that his supporters could shoot Hilary if she tries to abolish the second amendment.

Did I just hear correctly? Did @realDonaldTrump just suggest shooting a future president as a way to protect the 2nd amendment? Insanity!— Rob Reiner (@robreiner) August 9, 2016
Hayden: if someone other than Trump had said [it], “they’d be in a police wagon being questioned by Secret Service.”https://t.co/cwoweuYUwk— John Schindler (@20committee) August 9, 2016
Each day we wonder if Trump can get any worse. Each day he does. An implicit threat of violence against Hillary. https://t.co/HVYV97Uatr— Sam Seaborn (@SamSeaborn) August 9, 2016
As the daughter of a leader who was assassinated, I find #Trump's comments distasteful, disturbing, dangerous. His words don't #LiveUp. #MLK— Be A King (@BerniceKing) August 9, 2016
Don't treat this as a political misstep. It's an assassination threat, seriously upping the possibility of a national tragedy & crisis.— Chris Murphy (@ChrisMurphyCT) August 9, 2016
4 Presidents have been assassinated; also attempts on the lives of Reagan, Ford, Truman, FDR, etc. Not in any way a joking matter.— Brendan Boyle (@RepBrendanBoyle) August 9, 2016
What would Secret Service do if a citizen suggested that "2nd Amendment people" *do something* to stop a presidential nominee?— Kathleen Rice (@RepKathleenRice) August 9, 2016
.@realDonaldTrump makes death threats because he's a pathetic coward who can’t handle the fact that he’s losing to a girl.— Elizabeth Warren (@elizabethforma) August 9, 2016
Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook responded to Trump’s statement, stating that it was a dangerous remark coming from someone vying for the position of President of the United States.
The Trump campaign, however, disputed the interpretation that Trump suggested violence, saying he was merely trying to unify voters who support the 2nd Amendment. They also called it a joke.
And what is Hillary’s response to Donald Trump’s ‘joke.’
Our kids are watching, Donald.https://t.co/yRnhmfHIWh— Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) August 10, 2016
Meanwhile, the U.S Secret service have this to say:
The Secret Service is aware of the comments made earlier this afternoon.— U.S. Secret Service (@SecretService) August 9, 2016
