While preparing to start the day's work, we heard a colleague scream and on asking what happened, we got a shocker, her cousin, the respected entertainment lawyer, Efere Ozako was dead.
I didn't know him personally but I've been around my colleague when they chatted on phone and she always talked about him and how caring he was. Once, she told me he was the brain behind the popular slogan 'wetin lawyers they do".
Barrister Efere Ozako passed on at the early hours of this morning after complaining of dizziness last night shortly after his return from South Africa. We gathered that his condition deteriorated and eventually died of a suspected cardiac arrest on his way to LUTH. He was pronounced dead on arrival at LUTH.
Barr. Ozako was renowned for his handling of copyright issues and represented a lot of high-profile clients.
His death has thrown the entire entertainment and law industry into mourning.
