The Super Eagles of Nigeria have climbed up a spot to 62nd in the latest Fifa World rankings released today.
The three-time African champions now sit on 547 ranking points, directly above West African rivals Guinea who are 63rd on 540 points.
There was little movement on the March rankings as only 14 grade A matches were played across the globe, all being friendly games.
The new ranking also sees Nigeria climb a place to 11th on the continent, but remain 19 spots behind Afcon 2017 qualification rivals, the Pharaohs of Egypt who are seventh on the continent and 53rd in the world.
Cape Verde Islands have replaced reigning African champions Cote d’Ivoire as the highest ranked African side on 31st, with the Elephants coming in second ahead of Algeria, Ghana and Tunisia who round up the top five on the continent.
The Red Devils of Belgium continue to set the pace in the world, followed by Argentina, European champions Spain, World champions Germany and Copa America holders Chile.
The next world rankings will be released April 7th.
