Anti-Beyoncè Protest Turned Into A Black Lives Matter Protest

Not a single soul showed up for the organized Anti Beyoncè protest outside the National Football League headquarters Tuesday. Instead, pro-Beyonce and Black Lives Matter supporters rallied outside of the New York building.

The anti-Beyoncè protest was prompted by an Eventbrite campaign to protest the superstar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show.
The Guardian reports, about 30 pro-Beyoncé and Black Lives Matter supporters waited, holding signs proclaiming “Get information” (lyrics from Beyoncé’s Formation “get information/get in formation”) and “Pro black doesn’t mean anti white”.

“There are no haters here to hate on,” said Mary Pryor, organizer of a pro-Beyoncé and Black Lives Matter counter-protest.
Beyoncè has received constant backlash because of her latest track “Formation” and the Black Panther costumes worn by her dancers during her Super Bowl Halftime performance. Former Mayor of New York, Rudy Giuliani said it was “really outrageous that she used it as a platform to attack police officers who are the people who protect her and protect us, and keep us alive.”

There has been even more conversation about the hitmaker and her message because of the recent SNL skit called The Day Beyoncè Turned Black which poked fun at the reactions of white people to Beyoncè’s “Formation” song.

Whether you are pro-Beyoncè or anti-Beyoncè the conversation of race and equality needs to be discussed openly because it is a normal occurrence in our society.
